About Broadgate

Bishopsgate

The buildings, 135, 155 and 175 Bishopsgate were completed in 1989 and was opened as part of the Broadgate development in December 1991. Designed by leading architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as part of a three building structure this imposing building is often referred to as a "skyscraper lying on its side".

The facades form a continuous 900 ft frontage overlooking the famous Spitalfields Market. The building spans over the railway lines on a raft structure, and features two grand entrance lobbies both clad with impressive travertine marble and high quality joinery. The Bishopsgate entrance has high ceilings, which accommodate and compliment the unmissable Venus artwork by Jim Dine. 199 Bishopsgate adjoins these three buildings at the north end of Bishopsgate.

There are several retail outlets such as Jamie's, Timberland, Caffe Nero, Karen Millen, ITSU, David Clulow and Space NK Apothecary which can be found in Bishopsgate Arcade.
