Estate Recycling

Since October 2003 when a waste audit at Broadgate was carried out, very significant inroads into estate recycling have been made. At the time, the audit highlighted that cardboard was taking up significant bin and compactor space and therefore a mill size cardboard baler was purchased.

In 2009, our estate recycling scheme has enabled us to recycle 450 tonnes of glass and 260 tonnes of cardboard, 60 tonnes of food from retailers has gone to composting and 2 tons of Battery recycling

All 16 buildings are now involved in some if not all of these available estate recycling schemes. With 7000 tonnes of materials prodcued throughout Broadgate last year ,44% of this was recycled.
